Englewood sits comfortably off- the West coast of the Gulf of Mexico, a small and calm little town free of high-risers and corporate businesses. Often compared to "a little paradise in earth" by visitors from all around the world, Englewood offers acres of white sand dunes and crystal blue water in its four beaches: Englewood Beach, Manasota Key, Stump Pass and Blind Pass. The Southwest Coast of Florida, and Englewood in particular, has a great variety of shells and shark teeth for the serious or just the fun-loving shell collector; and it offers anglers one of the best places in the world to fish. Near all Englewood canals and open waters you can expect to hook Snapper, Grouper, Snook, Red Fish, and Tarpon among others. Boca Grande, the Tarpon capital of the world is just a 15 minutes drive from Englewood. If you are looking to retire, stay away from the cold weather or the perfect beach vacation, Englewood is the place to be.
